Renting in North Vancouver

The North Shore is the greenest place to rent in the region. The mountains start where the neighbourhoods end, and almost every north-facing window looks at trees.

Lower Lonsdale has become a genuine downtown of its own, and the SeaBus puts you at Waterfront in twelve minutes, which beats a lot of Vancouver commutes.

The catch is getting anywhere else: the two bridges are the only road connections and both back up badly.

TransitSeaBus from Lonsdale Quay to Waterfront in about 12 minutes; R2 RapidBus along Marine Drive. No SkyTrain.

Common questions

How fast do apartments in North Vancouver get rented?

Well-priced units in North Vancouver are usually gone within one to three days of being posted, and the best of them within hours. Being early matters more than being flexible.

Does a listing tell you what floor the apartment is on?

Usually not. Most rental ads in Metro Vancouver leave out the floor and which way the unit faces, even in buildings where those two things decide whether you look at a park or at the tower next door. We read the whole ad and flag what is missing so you know what to ask.

Where do North Vancouver rental listings actually get posted?

Plenty of them never reach the big rental portals. Owner-listed units in North Vancouver show up on Craigslist and Facebook groups first, and on the aggregators later if at all. We watch the places most renters forget to check.

Is Firstlook free?

Yes. You write the brief and we send the emails, which you can turn off from any message. We do not take a fee from you or from the landlord.
